No Pool? No Problem! Ways to Keep Cool This Summer

No Pool - No Problem! Ways to Keep Cool This SummerSummer brings with it longer days, clearer skies, and backyard barbecues. However, summer also brings with it hot weather that can often seem unbearable. With summer upon us, you might be looking for ways you can beat the heat and stay cool in the days and weeks ahead, particularly if you don't have access to a pool. While pools provide a great way to keep cool, if you don't currently have access to one, don't worry. There are a variety of other easy and affordable ways to keep cool this summer. Here are the top ways you can beat the heat without a pool this summer.

st in a Handheld Fan

A simple, classic, and affordable way to beat the summer heat is with a handheld electric fan. While these small fans do not look like they would be of much help, you will likely be surprised by how much better you will feel just by having a little extra breeze blowing on you. If you really want to stay cool, consider upgrading to a portable handheld fan that also has a mister. These fans can be found at various retailers for around $10 dollars, and they provide a nice, relaxing mist that will help to keep you cool throughout the day without soaking you. Need something that is a little smaller that you can easily take on the go? You could also purchase a fan that can be plugged into your smartphone. Simply plug the fan into your phone and you can cool off wherever you go this summer.

Buy an Inflatable Kiddie Pool

Remember those inflatable or hard plastic pools people had when they were kids? While it may feel silly to use one as an adult, they can provide a surprising amount of relief from the summer heat. The best part is that they can bring a sense of relief at a much more affordable price than having a pool installed. In fact, there are great options that can be found for 20 dollars or less! Smaller pools are easier (and cheaper) to fill up with ice. Add a few blocks of ice to your portable pool and you will quickly feel calm and cool, and you will start to forget how hot it is.

Make a Homemade Slip-and-Slide

As kids, there was nothing as fun as keeping cool during the summer with the help of a slip-and-slide. However, if you want a slip-and-slide large enough that the whole family can use it, not just the kids, this can cost you upwards of $200. A great alternative would then be to make your own slip-and-slide using either tarps or plastic sheeting, detergent, and a hose. There are various detailed articles online that can help walk you through the process of building your own slip-and-slide in your backyard. The great thing is that you can reuse your slip-and-slide and enjoy cool fun with the family all summer long.

Take Water Balloon Fights to The Next Level!

Another way you can keep cool this summer is to have a water balloon fight. New products will allow you to take your water balloon fights to the next level, turning them into water wars! Self-sealing rapid fill water balloons allow you to easily fill hundreds of water balloons each minute, which will surely help to create some summer mayhem. Another way to increase the intensity of your water balloon fights would be to invest in a water balloon slingshot that can hurl balloons over 100 feet!  With these tools at your disposal, you will be able to have some epic water balloon fights with your friends and family that will be sure to help you beat the heat this summer.
